Wati vs AiSensy: which WhatsApp API tool is better for your business in 2026?
Wati and AiSensy both sell the official WhatsApp Business API with a team inbox, broadcasts and chatbots, and both are popular with Indian businesses. This comparison is for owners choosing between them: what each plan costs, what each message costs, what the AI agent adds, and one real month priced on both.
Quick answer
AiSensy is cheaper to start and built around broadcasts: Basic is ₹1,500 or $45 a month, with an AI agent add-on from ₹1,350 or $50. Wati costs more, from $69 a month (Growth), but has a stronger inbox, more integrations and a more capable AI agent, Astra, at $99 a month on top of Pro. Meta's per-message charges apply to both.
Wati or AiSensy: the short verdict
AiSensy wins on entry price and campaign tools; Wati wins on inbox depth, integrations and AI. If most of your WhatsApp bill will be broadcasts to opted-in customers, AiSensy is usually the cheaper and simpler choice. If you run a support or sales team that lives in the inbox all day, Wati is usually the better tool even though it costs more.
Both are Business Solution Providers on Meta's official platform, so the basics are the same: a verified WhatsApp Business API number, message templates that Meta approves, a 24-hour customer service window, and Meta's per-message charges on top of the subscription. If those terms are new, our WhatsApp Business API pricing explainer covers them first.
AiSensy's real strengths
A Free Forever plan to get the API and a verified profile application, low rupee prices, a fast broadcast engine (40 messages a second on Basic, 250 on Premium), retargeting, click tracking and a Click-to-WhatsApp ads manager. Six inbox logins (1 owner plus 5 agents) are included from Basic.
Wati's real strengths
An omnichannel inbox (WhatsApp, Instagram, Facebook, TikTok, web widget), teams and auto routing on Pro, Shopify and CRM integrations including HubSpot, WhatsApp Business Calling, and Astra, a more complete AI agent with web, WhatsApp and voice. A 7-day free trial with no setup fee.
How do Wati and AiSensy prices compare?
On US dollar list prices, AiSensy's paid plans start at $45 a month and Wati's at $69. Both discount yearly billing: AiSensy by 10%, Wati by up to about 25%. Here are the plans side by side as each vendor's pricing page showed them in October 2026.
| Tier | Wati (USD) | AiSensy (USD) | AiSensy (INR) |
|---|---|---|---|
| Free | No free plan; 7-day trial | Free Forever: API access, live chat inbox, no broadcasting | ₹0 |
| Entry | Growth: $69 monthly, $59 billed annually. 3 users, no extra users, 15,000 broadcasts a month, 1,000 automation triggers | Basic: $45 monthly. 1 owner plus 5 agents, broadcasts and retargeting | ₹1,500 monthly, ₹16,200 a year (₹1,350 a month) |
| Middle | Pro: $149 monthly, $119 billed annually. 5 users, extra users $39 each, unlimited broadcasts, 2,000 automation triggers | Pro: $99 monthly. Adds campaign scheduler, click tracking, smart agent routing | ₹3,200 monthly, ₹34,560 a year (₹2,880 a month) |
| Upper | Business: custom quote. 5 users, extra users $89 each, multiple numbers, 5,000 automation triggers | Premium: $299 monthly. 1 owner plus 9 agents, 250 messages a second, number masking | ₹9,100 monthly, ₹98,280 a year |
| Extra seats | $39 (Pro) or $89 (Business) a user a month | $20 an agent a month | ₹750 an agent a month |
| Extra WhatsApp number | $29 a number a month | Not priced on the plan page; ask sales | |
Wati shows prices by country, so an Indian business sees a rupee list. We could load Wati's US dollar and Malaysian ringgit lists this month but not the rupee list, so for India we use our Wati pricing guide figure: Growth from about ₹2,999 a month on monthly billing. Confirm it on Wati's page before you budget. Indian prices on both tools are shown before 18% GST.
One detail that matters for small teams: Wati Growth is capped at 3 users with no way to add a fourth, so a team of four starts on Pro at $149. AiSensy's Basic already includes six logins.
What does each message cost on Wati and AiSensy?
Neither tool gives you free WhatsApp messages beyond what Meta itself gives. You pay per delivered template, and since 1 October 2026 you also pay for replies inside the 24-hour window after the first 1,000 per number each month. AiSensy publishes its rupee rates on its pricing page; Wati bills from its own rate card, which it links from the plan cards.
| Message to an Indian number | Meta's list rate | AiSensy's rate | Wati's rate |
|---|---|---|---|
| Marketing template | ₹0.8631 | ₹1.09 | Per Wati rate card |
| Utility template | ₹0.115 | ₹0.145 | Per Wati rate card |
| Authentication template | ₹0.115 | ₹0.145 | Per Wati rate card |
| Service reply, after 1,000 free a month | ₹0.115 | ₹0.145 | Per Wati rate card |
Meta's rates are from its rupee rate card effective 1 October 2026. AiSensy's marketing rate sits about 26% above Meta's list. Wati's plan cards say usage is "charged based on WATI rate card", so treat Meta's list rate as the floor and ask Wati for the card for your country before you sign. Messages customers send you are free on both, and so are messages inside a free entry point window opened by a click-to-WhatsApp ad, which Meta says may stay open for up to 7 days.
Which has the better AI agent, Wati or AiSensy?
Wati's Astra is the more capable agent; AiSensy's is cheaper. Neither is included in the base plan, so the real comparison is plan plus add-on.
| Wati Astra Pro | AiSensy AI Agent | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | $99 a month (20% off yearly) | $50 a month, or ₹1,350 (₹1,215 yearly) |
| Allowance | 5,000 credits a month; 1 credit per simple text reply, 3 for a rich reply, 5 per voice minute | 1,000 AI messages a month, plus 500 free for testing |
| Top-ups | $20 per 1,000 credits, valid three months | Charged separately; ask AiSensy for the rate |
| Channels | Web widget and WhatsApp, single-language voice agent | |
| Plan needed | Listed as an add-on on Wati Pro | Any paid plan |
| Cheapest route to AI on WhatsApp | Pro $149 plus Astra $99 = $248 a month | Basic $45 plus AI $50 = $95 a month |
Remember that AI replies are still WhatsApp service messages. A busy AI agent on either tool uses up the 1,000 free service messages and then pays Meta's rate on every further reply, on top of the AI allowance.
What one month costs on each: a coaching institute in Lucknow
A hypothetical coaching institute sends four campaigns a month to 2,000 opted-in parents and students, replies to about 3,000 messages by hand, and sends 600 class reminders. Prices in rupees, before GST, on monthly billing.
| Line | AiSensy Basic | Wati Growth |
|---|---|---|
| Plan | ₹1,500 | About ₹2,999 |
| 8,000 marketing messages | 8,000 × ₹1.09 = ₹8,720 | At least 8,000 × ₹0.8631 = ₹6,905 |
| 3,000 service replies (2,000 billable) | 2,000 × ₹0.145 = ₹290 | At least 2,000 × ₹0.115 = ₹230 |
| 600 utility reminders | 600 × ₹0.145 = ₹87 | At least 600 × ₹0.115 = ₹69 |
| Total | ₹10,597 | At least ₹10,203, plus any rate card margin |
The surprise is how close they land. AiSensy's plan is cheaper, but its marketing rate is higher, so a broadcast-heavy month narrows the gap. If Wati's rate card adds a similar margin to AiSensy's, Wati ends up a few hundred rupees dearer; if it bills near Meta's list, Wati can come out slightly cheaper at this volume. The lesson: at high campaign volume, compare per-message rates before you compare plan prices. At low volume, the plan price dominates and AiSensy is cheaper.

A third option if you only need inbound replies
Both Wati and AiSensy are built for businesses that send campaigns. Some businesses never broadcast: a clinic, a tutor or a property agent who just needs every enquiry answered and booked. For them, there is a cheaper route, with a real trade-off.
We make ReplyKit, so weigh this section accordingly. ReplyKit is an AI agent that answers WhatsApp and website chat from your own content, qualifies leads and books appointments, from $29 a month with 1,000 AI replies included and no Meta fees. It connects by scanning a QR code as a linked device, which is unofficial and not sanctioned by Meta, so a number can be restricted; we recommend a spare or dedicated number. It replies only to people who message first and does not do broadcasts or campaigns at all, so if campaigns are part of your plan, Wati or AiSensy is the right tool. The difference between the two connection methods is in our API vs QR pairing guide. If inbound replies are the whole job, you can try ReplyKit free for 7 days with no card, or see the three plans.
Frequently asked questions
Is Wati better than AiSensy?
Wati is better for teams that work in a shared inbox, need integrations or want a more capable AI agent. AiSensy is better for broadcast-led businesses that want the lowest entry price. Neither is better at everything, so decide by which job takes most of your team's time.
Is AiSensy cheaper than Wati?
On plan price, yes: AiSensy Basic is $45 a month against $69 for Wati Growth, and AiSensy has a free plan. On message charges AiSensy lists ₹1.09 per marketing message in India, while Wati bills from its own rate card, so for heavy broadcasting compare the per-message rates too.
Do Wati and AiSensy charge Meta's fees?
Yes. Both use the official WhatsApp Business API, so Meta's per-message charges apply to templates and, since 1 October 2026, to service replies after 1,000 free per number each month. Both collect them from a prepaid credit balance.
Does Wati have a free plan like AiSensy?
No. Wati offers a 7-day free trial with no setup fee, but no free plan. AiSensy's Free Forever plan gives you the API and a live chat inbox, but no broadcasting.
Which has a better AI chatbot, Wati or AiSensy?
Wati's Astra is more capable, with web and WhatsApp channels, voice and 5,000 credits on its $99 Pro tier. AiSensy's AI agent costs $50 a month for 1,000 AI messages and works on any paid plan, so it is the cheaper way to add AI.
Can I move from AiSensy to Wati or the other way?
Yes. Both are official providers, and a WhatsApp Business API number can be migrated between providers. Wati lists provider migration as part of its dedicated onboarding, and either vendor's team can tell you what moves across and what you need to set up again.
