30 WhatsApp sales message templates, from first reply to closing, plus promotional message examples

This is for anyone who sells over WhatsApp and types the same answers twenty times a day. You get 30 short templates in the order a sale happens, the rules for promotional messages, and a table showing which ones an AI agent can send for you.

Quick answer

A good WhatsApp sales message answers the customer's question in the first line, gives one fact that helps them decide, and ends with one easy question. Use templates for each stage: opening reply, qualifying, quote, objection, close, one follow-up and after-sale. Promotional messages are different: send them only to people who opted in to offers, with a way to stop.

Every template below is a starting point, written by us for illustration. Words in [brackets] are what you swap in. Read each one out loud before you save it as a quick reply: if it sounds like a letter, cut it down until it sounds like you.

Opening replies to a new enquiry

The first reply should answer the question the customer asked, in the first line, and end with one easy question. Do not open with a menu or a wall of text.

1. Price question
Hi [name], thanks for messaging. The [service] is [price], and that includes [what is included]. Is this for [option A] or [option B]?
2. Is it available?
Yes, [item] is available in [size or colour]. Would you like delivery or pickup?
3. Vague "tell me more"
Hi [name]! Happy to help. So I send the right details: is this for yourself or for a business?
4. Enquiry from an ad
Hi [name], thanks for tapping our ad. The [offer] runs until [date]. What would you like to know first, price or how it works?

More openers for specific channels are in our welcome message templates.

Questions that qualify without interrogating

Ask one question at a time, and only questions whose answers change what you offer. Need, timing, budget and fit are usually enough.

5. Need
Got it. Is the main goal [outcome A] or [outcome B]? That changes which package I would suggest.
6. Timing
When would you like this done? We have space [this week / from date].
7. Budget, asked gently
Packages run from [low] to [high]. Roughly where would you like to be, so I suggest the right one?
8. Fit
Which area are you in? We cover [areas] at no extra charge.

For trade-specific question sets, see WhatsApp lead qualification questions.

Quote and offer messages

A quote on WhatsApp should fit on one phone screen: what they get, the price, what happens next, and how long the price holds.

9. Simple quote
Here is the quote for [name]: [item or service], [quantity], total [price], including [delivery, tax]. Valid until [date]. Shall I go ahead?
10. Two options
Two options for you. Standard: [what], [price]. Premium: [what more], [price]. Most customers in your situation pick [option] because [reason]. Which suits you?
11. Quote with a deposit
Total is [price]. To confirm your [date] slot we take a [amount] deposit, refundable up to [time] before. Shall I send the payment details?
12. Quote follow-through photo
Here is a photo of a similar [job or product] we did last month. Yours would be [difference]. Any questions before I book it in?

Objection replies that keep the door open

An objection is a question in disguise. Agree with the concern, give one fact, and offer a smaller next step.

13. "Too expensive"
Fair question. The price includes [thing competitors charge extra for]. If you would like to start smaller, [cheaper option] is [price]. Would that work better?
14. "I need to think about it"
Of course. Is it the price, the timing, or something about the [product or service] you are unsure of? Happy to answer anything.
15. "I am comparing with others"
Makes sense. When you compare, check whether [important detail] is included. Ours includes it. I am here if you want a side-by-side.
16. "Not now"
No problem. Shall I check back in [timeframe], or would you rather message us when you are ready?
17. "I need to ask my partner"
Of course. Want me to send a short summary you can forward to them? It has the price, what is included and the dates.

When the objection is a request for a discount, use our guide to handling haggling on WhatsApp.

Closing messages that ask for the sale

Many sales are lost because nobody asked. When the customer has what they need, ask a direct question with two easy answers.

18. Assumptive close
Great, shall I book you in for [day] at [time], or does [other time] suit better?
19. Summary close
So that is [item], [quantity], delivered [date], total [price]. Reply YES and I will send the payment link.
20. Last slot, true only
Just so you know, [day] has one slot left. Want me to hold it for you until [time]?
21. Order confirmation
Confirmed. [Item], [price], arriving [date]. Your order number is [number]. Anything else you need?

Use template 20 only when it is true. Invented scarcity is easy to spot on WhatsApp because the customer can simply ask again tomorrow.

Follow-up when a buyer goes quiet

Send one follow-up that adds something new, a day or two later, and then stop. Repeating "just checking in" only teaches the customer to ignore you.

22. Helpful nudge
Hi [name], one thing I forgot to mention: [useful detail, such as free delivery this week]. Still keen on the [item]?
23. Easy exit
Hi [name], I will not keep messaging. If you would still like the [item or slot], just reply here any time.
24. Back in stock, if they asked
Hi [name], you asked about the [item] in [size]. It is back today. Want me to hold one?

Our longer set is in lead follow-up message templates, and the timing is covered in following up leads who stop replying.

After the sale: thank you, upsell, review

25. Thank you
Thank you for your order, [name]. It is packed and goes out [day]. If anything is not right when it arrives, message us here.
26. Relevant add-on
Since you got the [item], customers often add [related item] for [price]. Want me to add it before it ships?
27. Review ask
Hi [name], how is the [item] working out? If you are happy, a quick review here would help us a lot: [link].

Promotional message examples for opted-in customers

These are marketing messages. Send them only to people who agreed to receive offers from your business, as the WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy requires, and include a way to stop.

28. New arrival
Hi [name], new in: [item], [price]. You get first pick before we post it publicly tomorrow. Reply with the name to reserve. Reply STOP for no more offers.
29. Seasonal offer
[Season] offer for regulars: [offer] until [date]. Reply BOOK and we will find you a time. Reply STOP for no more offers.
30. Loyalty thank-you
You have been with us [timeframe], [name], so your next [service or item] is [discount] off. No code needed, just reply when you want it. Reply STOP for no more offers.

If you send these through the official WhatsApp Business Platform rather than the Business app, each one must be an approved template, and Meta has dedicated coupon code and limited-time-offer formats. Our guide to getting templates approved covers the review.

How to make a template not sound like a template

  1. Answer their exact words. If they asked "how much for two?", say the price for two, not your price list.
  2. Use their name once, at the start. Using it in every message sounds automated.
  3. Match their length. A three-word question gets a two-line answer.
  4. Match their language. If they write in Malay or Spanish, reply in it.
  5. End with one question, never two.

Which of these can an AI send for you?

An AI agent can send the reply-side templates (1 to 22 and 25 to 26) because each one answers something the customer wrote. Promotional messages 28 to 30 are campaigns and need a sending tool and opt-in. This is how it splits with ReplyKit, whose plans run from $29 a month with AI replies included:

1 to 8Opening and qualifyingYes, answers from your content and asks your questionsReview the leads it scores hot
9 to 12QuotesFixed prices from your price list; books appointmentsCustom quotes after handoff

18 to 21ClosingBookings into real open slotsOrder confirmation and payment
22 to 24Follow-upOne gentle nudge on Growth and ProAnything after that
25 to 27After the saleAnswers questions when the customer writesThank-you and review asks
28 to 30PromotionsNo, ReplyKit sends no broadcasts or campaignsBusiness app or an official API provider

ReplyKit connects through Quick Connect, an unofficial QR pairing rather than the WhatsApp Business API; Meta does not sanction it and a number can be restricted, which you accept by pressing Connect after one plain notice (section 3 of our terms). If your sales chats wait hours for a reply, start a 7-day free trial and load your price list first.

Frequently asked questions

How do you write a sales message on WhatsApp?

Answer the customer's question in the first line, add one fact that helps them decide, and end with one easy question such as a choice of two times. Keep it to one phone screen and match the customer's language and length.

What is a good WhatsApp message to send to customers to sell?

The best one replies to something the customer asked or opted in to, such as a back-in-stock alert for an item they wanted. Unsolicited sales messages tend to get blocked or reported, which can restrict your number.

How do I write a promotional message for WhatsApp?

Lead with the offer, say why it is for them, give one clear action and a deadline if real, and add a way to stop. Send it only to people who agreed to receive offers from your business.

How do I follow up a WhatsApp sales message without being annoying?

Send one follow-up a day or two later that adds something new, such as a detail they did not know. If they still do not reply, stop and let them come back when ready.

Can I save these templates in WhatsApp Business?

Yes. The WhatsApp Business app has quick replies, which let you save frequent messages and insert them with a shortcut. Edit the brackets each time so the message fits the customer.

Do I need approved templates to send sales messages on WhatsApp?

Only on the official WhatsApp Business Platform, and only for messages that start a conversation or arrive outside the customer service window. Replies inside an open chat, and messages from the Business app, do not need approval.

ReplyKit answers sales chats from your price list in seconds and hands you the hot ones. 7-day free trial, no credit card needed.

How we know this. We wrote these templates for illustration, drawing on the patterns we see work in the WhatsApp sales chats ReplyKit handles; no customer messages are quoted. The rules on promotional messages come from the WhatsApp Business Messaging Policy and Meta's marketing template documentation, read on 16 and 17 October 2026. We make ReplyKit, so weigh our view accordingly: it replies and qualifies but does not send promotions, and if most of your selling is outbound to a list, an official API provider is the better tool.
