Welcome messages for new customers on WhatsApp: templates for after the first booking, purchase, membership or enrolment
A greeting is what you say when someone first messages. A welcome is what you say when they first say yes: booked, joined, enrolled, ordered. It is the moment they are most attentive and most likely to have a question they have not asked. Here is what a welcome should do, and templates by business.
Quick answer
A welcome message confirms what they signed up for, tells them what happens next and when, lists the one or two things they need to do or bring, and says how to reach you. Three to five lines, sent as soon as the first booking or purchase is confirmed. No sales, no upsells. If an AI agent made the booking, it sends the welcome from your knowledge in the same reply.

What to include, what to leave out
- Include: what they signed up for, what happens next and when, what to bring or do, how to reach you.
- Leave out: upsells, referral asks, review requests, long lists of rules. Those come later.
- Three to five lines. If it needs more, send a document.
Letting the agent send it
Put the welcome text for each service in the knowledge base under "what to send after a first booking", and the agent includes it when it confirms the booking. New patients get the parking and forms note; new students get the day-one list. It is the same knowledge that answers "what should I bring?" when a customer asks later. See what to put in the knowledge base.
