Trengo pricing in 2026: Boost vs Pro, how conversations are counted, and what AI adds

Trengo is priced for teams, not individuals: the cheapest plan already includes ten users. That makes it good value for a busy support desk and expensive for a small one. This guide, for teams weighing Trengo in October 2026, explains both plans, the three meters underneath them, and what two different teams would pay.

Quick answer

Trengo Boost costs €349 a month (€299 billed yearly) for 10 users and 500 conversations a month; Pro costs €599 (€499 yearly) for 20 users and 1,500 conversations. Extra conversations are €18 per 100 (€15 yearly), and each conversation handled with AI carries a €0.30 surcharge (€0.25 yearly). Meta's WhatsApp fees come on top.

Prices in euros from Trengo's pricing page, checked October 2026. The page has a currency switcher for euros, dollars and pounds, but showed only euro amounts when we checked. Trengo offers a free trial; the page does not say how long it lasts. Annual billing saves up to 20%.

A useful way to read these numbers: Boost on monthly billing works out to about €0.70 per included conversation, and Pro to about €0.40. If your team handles far fewer conversations than the allowance, you are paying mainly for seats.

How does Trengo count a conversation?

In Trengo, a conversation starts when your team sends a message from the platform, either as first contact or as a reply to a customer, and lasts for a 7-day window. Anything after those 7 days with the same customer counts as a new conversation.

That definition has three practical effects:

  1. Inbound messages you never answer do not count. The meter starts with your outbound message.
  2. A long back-and-forth within a week is one conversation, however many messages it contains, across email, WhatsApp, Instagram or chat.
  3. A slow sale spread over three weeks can count three times. Teams with long follow-up cycles burn through the allowance faster than their ticket count suggests.

Over the allowance, extra conversations are €18 per 100 on monthly billing and €15 per 100 on annual billing.

What does Trengo's AI cost?

Trengo's AI agent, HelpMate, is listed on both Boost and Pro. Conversations handled with AI carry a surcharge of €0.30 each on monthly billing or €0.25 on annual billing, on top of the plan.

At €0.30, an AI agent that handles 1,000 conversations a month adds €300, close to the price of Boost itself. That is still cheaper than a person for most teams, but it belongs in the budget from day one.

What does WhatsApp cost on Trengo?

Trengo includes the official WhatsApp Business API integration on every plan. Meta's per-message fees are separate: the first 1,000 service messages per phone number each month are free, and Meta charges per message after that, as Trengo's page notes.

For Dutch customers, Meta's list rates as republished by Twilio are about $0.05 for each service or utility message beyond the free tier and about $0.1597 for a marketing template, among the highest in Europe. In the UK they are $0.022 and $0.0635. Broadcasting is an add-on on every Trengo plan, so campaign sending costs extra twice: the add-on and Meta's marketing fee. Our WhatsApp Business API pricing guide explains Meta's categories.

Trengo for a bike shop and a support desk

Both teams are hypothetical; Meta fees use US dollar list rates.

A bike shop chain in Utrecht: 6 staff, Boost, annual

LineWorkingPer month
Boost, annual10 users included, 6 used€299
Extra conversations700 a month against a 500 average: 200 x €15 per 100€30
AI surcharge300 conversations handled by HelpMate x €0.25€75
Meta service messages2,000 replies minus 1,000 free = 1,000 x $0.05$50
Total€404 plus about $50

Because annual allowances are pooled across the year (6,000 conversations), a quiet winter can offset a busy spring. Our extra-conversation line assumes the shop exceeds the year's total.

A 12-person support desk in Dublin: Boost or Pro, monthly

Boost would cost €349 plus 2 extra users at €30 = €409, with 500 conversations. Pro costs €599 with 20 users and 1,500 conversations. If the desk handles 1,200 conversations a month, Boost needs 700 extra at €18 per 100 = €126, bringing it to €535; add API actions for the AI and only Pro has them. The desk is close to break-even on price, so features decide it. Meta's fees for Irish customers, about $0.0171 per service message beyond the free 1,000, apply either way.

Should you choose Boost or Pro?

On price alone, Boost stays cheaper than Pro until its add-ons pass €250 a month, the gap between the two plans on monthly billing. A 10-person team crosses that line at about 1,890 conversations a month; a 12-person team at about 1,550. Below those volumes, choose Pro only if you need its features: API actions for the AI, phone support, or more than 20 users without paying per seat.

Is Trengo worth the price?

Trengo is worth it for support teams of five or more that handle email, WhatsApp, Instagram and chat together and want one shared inbox with automation. It is hard to justify for a business with one or two people answering, since the entry price already covers ten seats.

Strengths

Ten users from the start, every channel in one inbox, the official WhatsApp API, and a clear published price for extra users, extra conversations and AI.

Watch-outs

A high entry price for small teams, the 7-day conversation rule, a per-conversation AI surcharge, broadcasting as an add-on, and Meta's fees, which are steep in the Netherlands.

We make ReplyKit, a smaller competing product, so weigh this paragraph accordingly. If you are a two-person business mostly answering enquiries on WhatsApp and your website, ReplyKit's AI agent costs $29, $49 or $99 a month with replies included and no per-seat or Meta fees. It connects through a QR code that links your number as a device: unofficial, not the WhatsApp Business API, and not sanctioned by Meta, so a number can be restricted. Read will WhatsApp ban my number for automation? first. It has no email, Instagram or broadcast channel, so it cannot replace Trengo for a multi-channel desk. How we know this. We read Trengo's pricing page in October 2026, including the plan cards, the feature table, the add-on prices and the FAQ definition of a conversation. Meta's per-country rates come from the list Twilio republishes and Meta's developer pricing page. Both bills are hypothetical, and the Boost or Pro thresholds are our own arithmetic from Trengo's published prices. We sell ReplyKit, which competes with Trengo only for very small teams, so weigh our view accordingly. For a multi-channel support desk of five or more, Trengo is the better choice. About ReplyKit.
