SleekFlow vs Wati: which WhatsApp API platform gives you more for the money?

SleekFlow and Wati are two of the most common WhatsApp Business API platforms for small businesses in Southeast Asia, India and the Middle East. Both offer a team inbox, broadcasts, no-code chatbots and an AI agent. They differ in how they charge, what the entry plan includes, and whether AI costs extra. We priced both in Malaysian ringgit, where both publish local prices, and in US dollars.

Quick answer

Wati is cheaper to start: Growth is RM 399 a month in Malaysia (RM 299 yearly) or about $69 in the US, but its Astra AI agent is a separate add-on. SleekFlow Pro costs RM 449 (RM 399 yearly) or US$139 and includes an AI agent. Choose Wati for broadcasts and chatbots on a tight budget, SleekFlow if you want AI answering from day one.

Where they really differ

The biggest difference is AI: SleekFlow includes an AI agent on Pro, while Wati sells its Astra AI agents as a separate add-on. The second is how usage is metered.

SleekFlow

Priced by monthly active contacts and seats, set per market. Pro includes the AI agent, broadcasts, Flow Builder and integrations like Shopify, Google Sheets and Zapier. A WhatsApp number carries a monthly hosting fee.

Wati

Priced by plan with limits on automation triggers, broadcasts and users. Growth is a low-cost entry with chatbots and broadcasts. Astra AI agents for WhatsApp, web and voice are priced separately. No setup fee.

Both run on the official WhatsApp Business API, so both pass on Meta's per-message charges. We build ReplyKit, a different kind of tool that we mention once below; neither SleekFlow nor Wati is a customer or partner of ours.

Price list in Malaysian ringgit

In Malaysia, Wati's Growth plan is the cheapest way in, and SleekFlow Pro is the cheapest plan with an AI agent included.

Wati GrowthRM 399RM 2993, no extra users15,000 broadcasts, 1,000 automation triggers, 250 Copilot credits

Wati BusinessCustomCustom5, extra RM 370 each5,000 triggers, 1,500 Copilot credits, multiple numbers

Extra costs in ringgit: SleekFlow charges RM 50 a month per WhatsApp number and lists a RM 4,000 one-time 60-day onboarding package. Wati charges RM 119 a month for each additional WhatsApp number, RM 100 a month per extra 1,000 automation triggers and RM 100 per extra 1,000 Copilot credits. Checked October 2026 on SleekFlow's Malaysia pricing and Wati's pricing page as shown to a Malaysian visitor.

Price list in US dollars

In US dollars the order changes: SleekFlow's Essential plan undercuts Wati Growth where it is available, but Essential has no AI agent.

PlanMonthlyBilled yearly, per monthNotes
SleekFlow Essential$69$493 seats, 500 contacts, no AI agent, no broadcasts, rolling out by country
Wati GrowthAbout $69About $593 users, broadcasts, chatbots
SleekFlow Pro$139$10910 seats, 500 contacts, AI agent
Wati ProAbout $149About $1195 users, Astra available as an add-on
SleekFlow Premium$349$27910 seats, 1,000 contacts
Wati BusinessAbout $349About $2795 users, multiple numbers

SleekFlow figures from its US pricing page, October 2026, where the number fee is US$15 a month. Wati's page shows prices by visitor country and showed us ringgit, so its US dollar figures come from our Wati pricing guide, checked earlier in October 2026.

Contacts versus automation triggers

SleekFlow counts people; Wati counts automation runs. Which one hurts depends on how you use WhatsApp.

Rule of thumb. Big lists and frequent promotions favour Wati. Fewer customers with longer, AI-handled conversations favour SleekFlow.

Before choosing, pull last month's numbers: how many different people messaged you, how many broadcasts you sent and to how many people, and how often a chatbot or keyword rule fired. Ten minutes with those three figures will tell you which meter you are likely to hit first.

The AI agent: included or add-on

On SleekFlow Pro the AI agent is part of the plan. On Wati, Copilot credits help your team draft replies, but the agent that answers customers, Astra, costs extra.

Wati's pricing page describes Astra as AI agents for web, WhatsApp and voice, "priced separately". Our Wati pricing guide recorded the WhatsApp-capable Astra tier at $99 a month earlier in October 2026; confirm the current figure with Wati. So a like-for-like comparison is SleekFlow Pro against Wati Pro plus Astra, not against Wati Growth.

A Kuala Lumpur furniture shop, priced

A hypothetical furniture shop in Kuala Lumpur has 3 staff, one WhatsApp number and about 800 customers messaging a month. It wants an AI agent to answer stock, delivery and price questions. Monthly billing, before Meta's message charges.

For an AI-first shop, SleekFlow is cheaper by a wide margin. For a shop that wants rule-based chatbots and monthly promotions to a big list, Wati Growth at RM 399, or RM 299 on a yearly plan, is the better deal. Meta's charges apply on top of both: since 1 October 2026, service replies are charged after 1,000 free per number a month, according to Meta's pricing documentation. A lighter option for inbound only

This is our own product, so weigh it accordingly. If you do not need broadcasts or templates and only want inbound WhatsApp and website enquiries answered, booked and sorted into hot, warm and cold leads, ReplyKit costs US$29, $49 or $99 a month with AI replies included and no Meta fees.

The catch is the connection: ReplyKit pairs with your WhatsApp by QR code as a linked device, which is unofficial and not sanctioned by Meta, so a number can be restricted. Use a dedicated number. It has no broadcasts, no Shopify app and no integrations beyond CSV export, so SleekFlow or Wati remains the right tool for campaigns. Frequently asked questions

Is Wati cheaper than SleekFlow?

At entry level, yes. Wati Growth is RM 399 a month in Malaysia against RM 449 for SleekFlow Pro. But Wati Growth has no AI agent, and Wati Pro with the Astra add-on costs well over twice SleekFlow Pro.

Does Wati include an AI agent?

Not in the base plans. Wati includes AI Copilot credits for drafting replies, while Astra AI agents that answer customers are an add-on priced separately and available from Pro.

Does SleekFlow charge for WhatsApp numbers?

Yes. SleekFlow charges a monthly hosting fee per WhatsApp number, RM 50 in Malaysia or US$15 in the US. Wati includes the first number and charges RM 119 a month for each additional one in Malaysia.

Which is better for WhatsApp broadcasts?

Wati, for large lists. Its broadcasts have their own allowance, unlimited on Pro, while SleekFlow counts broadcast recipients as monthly active contacts, which can push you into add-ons or a higher plan.

Do both have a free trial?

Yes. SleekFlow offers a 7-day Pro trial with no credit card, and Wati offers a 7-day trial with zero setup fees.

Do Meta fees apply on both?

Yes. Both use the official WhatsApp Business API, so Meta's per-message charges for templates, and for service replies beyond 1,000 a month per number since October 2026, are billed on top of the plan.

Only need inbound WhatsApp answered?

How we know this. We read SleekFlow's Malaysia and US pricing pages and Wati's pricing page in October 2026. Wati showed us Malaysian ringgit prices based on our location, so its US dollar figures and the Astra price come from our Wati pricing guide, checked earlier the same month, and are written as "about". The furniture shop is hypothetical. We build ReplyKit, which competes with both for inbound enquiry handling. For broadcasts, templates or the official API, SleekFlow or Wati is the better choice.
